Mr. Thompson started with Heartland in February of 2000 as the company’s first Human Resources Manager. At that time, he brought more than seven years of HR experience to the company. He developed and implemented the administrative policies and procedures that remain our foundation today.
He managed Heartland’s Human Resources and Payroll departments while the company grew from 250 team members to approximately 2,500 today. In his current role since 2005, Mr. Thompson still oversees the Human Resources department as well as the Procurement, Doctor Recruiting and Information Technology areas. He is also responsible for maintaining key relationships with important vendors such as Henry Schein, Kodak, Discus, Dentsply and Dentrix, among many others.
Mr. Thompson also serves as the Corporate Compliance Officer for Heartland Dental Care. The Compliance Program went into effect in 2007 and commits all employees to the highest ethical and professional standards at all times.
Patient care and treatments must always be appropriate and properly administered. Heartland personnel must comply fully with governing laws and regulations and with all internal policies and procedures.
A cum laude graduate of Blackburn College, Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with minors in Economics and Industrial Psychology. Prior to joining Heartland, Mr. Thompson worked with Perry Judd’s Printing, Inc. in Baraboo, WI and Quebecor World Printing in Flora, IL and Trenton, TN. He maintains memberships with The American Academy of Group Dental Practices, The Employee Stock Ownership Association, and the Society of Human Resources Management.
