Since graduating from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1980 and beginning his own practice, Dr. Workman has been driven to create a world class dental company that focuses on providing each patient with professional excellence from the clinicians and personal attention from every team member.

This credo has helped create and grow Heartland Dental Care to one of the nation’s largest dental practice management groups. Most importantly, dentists and team members across the country have improved their clinical and communication skills to help make each patient’s experience at a Heartland dental office a positive and healthy one.

Dr. Workman is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Group Practices, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Young President’s Organization and 49’ers, World President’s Organization, Clay City Excellence in Education Foundation, and Effingham County Community Foundation.

A feature topic in many dental and business magazines, Dr. Workman has received many awards and honors. Most notable is his receipt of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Masters Category, in 2003. Heartland Dental Care has also been recognized as one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 500 fastest growing companies.

In 2007, Dr. Workman reached a personal milestone of 25 years in the dental industry and practice management while Heartland Dental Care celebrated its 10th Anniversary. That same year, Dr. Workman received the BESI Award (Business Ethics & Social Involvement Award) from the East Central Illinois Development Corporation.
